Course: Agricultural Science with English (University)
Age: 18 years +
Duration: 4 weeks

Accommodation: Host family farm
Aim: To provide an enjoyable learning environment where students learn about Agricultural Science while improving their English.
Teaching: 15 hours of Agricultural Science classes
5 hours of English Terminology
Activities: Field trips to Agri Business Companies (Saturdays)
Certificate: Certificate of Completion presented at end of course
Further Information: This course will also include laboratory classes, a case study on a local host family farm, field trips, a weekly exam and guest speakers from the Agri Business sector. Students will get a hands on look at the primary and tertiary Irish agricultural sectors and focus on best practice within the dairy, tillage, beef and sheep sectors.
Tutor: Mike Egan (B.Agr.Sc, Dip.Bus.Mgt, Farm Planner number 01376, IASTA member, CELT)
Mike is a qualified Agricultural Scientist and a licensed Farm Planner from The Irish Department of Agriculture and Food. He is also a member of IASTA (Irish Agricultural Science Teachers Association). Mike is the Director of Studies of this programme.

Sample Timetable
Accommodation: Students are placed with host families on a farm on a full board basis (breakfast, lunch and evening meal). Our host families and accommodation have been carefully selected and are located close to the school.
